Lawrence Gorfine, MD, is board-certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, with more than 25 years of experience caring for patients with complex pain conditions. His career reflects a strong commitment to clinical leadership, education, and the advancement of the field of pain medicine. Dr. Gorfine has held numerous leadership roles, including Past President of the Palm Beach County Medical Society and the Florida Academy of Pain Medicine, as well as Past President of the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists.
In academic medicine, Dr. Gorfine served as Director of Pain Medicine, Associate Professor, and Fellowship Director of Pain Management at the Medical College of Virginia. He also spent eight years as Liaison Director for the JFK Medical Center Intensive Care Units, where he later established the hospital’s Pain Management Service. Throughout his career, he has remained actively involved in teaching and lecturing residents and fellows at university medical centers.
